About the Position


The Real Property Specialist provides real estate functions by purchasing/selling county properties and managing the leases and licenses for various county divisions.

- Opportunity to use experience and skills in real estate transactions- Collaborate with a team of professionals in managing the many facets of County owned and leased properties- Researching, updating, extending terms, drafting and preparing legal documents, corresponding with different departments, and seeing to full execution- Sense of accomplishment and pride in your work- Interact with Directors, Project Managers and peers in various County departments, Title Companies, and Private and Government Landlords and Tenants

The Maricopa County Real Estate Department partners with various departments and agencies to acquire space and improvements for County personnel and land for infrastructure improvement projects.

This defined retirement benefit requires a 12.29% monthly contribution rate and includes a 100% employer match on Day 1- Learn more at- Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZWe Require- Two years of experience in real estate transactions, property management, or related technical positions that involve land/property rights and drafting real estate agreements- Bachelor's degree in real estate, business, public administration or STEM field- An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

We Value- Demonstrated experience in any of the following: acquisition of real estate; real property rights; title and escrow services; contract writing; government land operations; land planning; space leasing; property management; and database management

Job Contributions- Draft Leases, Licenses, Amendments, Letters of Intent, Purchase and Sale Agreements, and Agenda Items.

Incorporate redlines and ensure their accuracy- Correspond with County Departments and outside Landlords, Tenants, and Contractors- Audit and abstract leases and files- Calendar Board Meetings and Dates for document execution- Distribute completed documentation to appropriate parties.

Maintain good rapport with these same parties- Familiarize oneself with County owned and leased properties, Supervisor Districts, electronic files, policies and procedures, and workflow- Offer ideas and opinions to better equip the real estate department and streamline work- General office duties, including opening and distributing mail and scheduling meetings- Assist in document migration to the repository, database, special projects, and other departments


Working Conditions- The position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
