As a
Medical Documentation Technician, you'll assist with all document handling and mail intake functions, including scanning and routing of patient medical records and departmental correspondence, data entry, organizes and maintains health information in oth paper and electronic format.

Validates and routes inbound electronic faxes to appropriate departments. On-the-job training provided.


Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, Wyoming; residents are not eligible.

Responsibilities:


  • Sort, scan and route patient medical records and internal company mail, including inbound and outbound mail
  • Performs data entry to link document images to patient medical records
  • Checks data for accuracy, and collates claim correspondence for mailing to insurance companies
  • Prepares incoming patient and insurance checks for daily bank deposits
  • May assist in the distribution of interoffice mail and incoming packages, accepts deliveries such as office supplies and assists in storage and/or delivering to the appropriate department

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required with 1 year office related medical records experience
  • Minimum 1 year MS Office experience; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficient and accurate data entry
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking, communication (verbal and in writing with proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation), and organizational skills are essential
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, computers, document scanners, printers
