Business Process Analyst- Process Mapping and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough process mapping of current healthcare workflows, including clinical, financial, and administrative processes.
- Analyze collected data on processes to uncover pain points, inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and compliance inconsistencies.
- Identify available sources of data and opportunities for automation
- Provide onsite assessment, analysis and review. The position will require travel to Stony Brook Community Medical (SBCM) practices located throughout Suffolk County
- Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to develop and recommend process improvement solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve patient outcomes.
- Design new, streamlined processes, considering technology integration and the unique needs of the healthcare environment.
- Pull financial and practice related data data and assist in designing Executive and Managerial dashboards
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Facilitate workshops and interviews with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, pain points, and process objectives.
- Actively manage stakeholder expectations and foster buyin by effectively communicating process changes and benefits.
- Work with Stony Brook Medicine team (SBM) to ensure changes comply with industry best practices and SBM guidelines.
- This individual will interact with all levels of staff at SBCM, SBAS, the hospital/HSC as well
- Documentation:
- Create clear process and technical documentation, including flowcharts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials
- Develop and maintain requirements and functional specifications documents.
- Project Support:
- Contribute to the implementation of new processes, including technology deployment and change management initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented process changes and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Practice Support:
- Review current financial processes and systems and identify areas for improvement.
- Ability to handle different tasks with different priorities simultaneously
- Act as liaison between SBAS Corporate and the SBCM practices

- Position Requirements
Desired Skills & Knowledge:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or comparable work experience
- Knowledge of data analysis and scripting tools (Excel, SQL queries, scripting tools (Python, Powershell, Microsoft Power Apps)
- Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems or other healthcarerelated software.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Experience with Cerner EMR, Docuware, Micro Strategies
