Responsibilities:
Asses the needs of the patient, plan and implement individualized care and evaluate the effectiveness of that care.
Include patient and family in planning and implementing care.
Maintain a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.
Anticipate and recognize significant changes in the patient's condition, status, and need for care.
Anticipates and alters the plan of care as needed, mobilizes appropriate resources, and collaborates with other health care team members to coordinate patient centered care.
Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care.
Implements strategies to reduce patient risk and increase patient safety.
Assess patient and family readiness to learn and individualizes the approach as necessary.
Applies evidence-based practice to deliver patient care.
Maintain accurate patient medical records.
Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills.
Seeks opportunity to be taught, coached, and mentored. As well as the opportunity to do those same tasks in return.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in ambulatory surgery center is preferred.
Ability to work in all 3 areas Pre/PACU/Post.
Comfortable with IV starts.
Familiarity with medical software and equipment.
Ability to build rapport with patients.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to change with the evolving health care.
RN with current Wisconsin License.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS. If you do not have ACLS or PALS, willing to get certified.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Requires full body range of motion with handling and lifting patients.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 35-40 lbs.
Push and pull patients in wheelchairs or carts with up to 40 lbs of force.
Perform sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person.
May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
