    The Senior Leave Accommodation Specialist is responsible for leave and accommodations education and training, third-party vendor management, and project coordination. In addition, this position serves as a liaison between the third-party administrator and Casey's in the administration of federal, state, and local leave regulations for assigned business areas. They ensure that company leaves are properly administered by third party administrator. The Senior Leave Accommodation Specialist is also responsible for managing and engaging in the interactive process for all ADA and workplace accommodation requests for all company team members in their assigned business areas. Assigned areas: DC, Drivers, Service, SSC

    As aSenior Leave Accommodation Specialist, you will also:
    • Assist in developing and maintaining a strong relationship with Casey's third-party administrator. Hold them accountable to Performance Guarantees outlined in the contract. Review and analyze quarterly reporting and implement proactive strategies to improve team member and leader experience and reduce incident rates and lost workdays.
    • Partner with internal teams to develop leave and accommodations education and training. Serve as subject matter expert for creation and maintenance of compliant online training content, conduct formal training sessions with leadership, write and send company-wide communications, and attend meetings with various leaders and HR Business Partners.
    • Ensure Casey's Leave Accommodations Standard Operating Procedures are up to date. Work with the team and third-party administrator to identify opportunities for process enhancements and assists the team to execute on these efficiencies. This may include taking a lead role on project execution.
    • Serve as the point of contact for leave of absence (LOA) inquiries. Provide guidance and education to peers, team members, leaders and HR on complex aspects of return-to-work accommodations and case management processes. Includes managing leaves accommodations concurrently with worker's compensation, when applicable.
    • Respond to third-party administrator regarding LOA and accommodation inquiries. Protect health related information as required under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and complies with GINA (Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act).
    • Manage ADA and workplace accommodation requests, which may include the collection, review and maintenance of documentation not handled by the company's third-party administrator.
    • Consult with leaders and/or appropriate business units in determination of reasonable accommodations as determined by the interactive process. Prepare and complete appropriate documentation of accommodation implementation or undue hardship. Monitor ongoing accommodations to ensure accommodations are effective.
    • Work with the Risk and Legal Departments on workers compensation accommodations, such as offering suitable work, position changes and/or ordering special equipment for the team member.
    • Respond to ADA and Workplace Accommodations requests to third party administrator regarding accommodation implementation and work with leaders in implementation of necessary reasonable accommodations.

    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related experience.
    • At least five years of experience with federal, state, local laws pertaining to leave of absence and accommodation, including but not limited to FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act), ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), ADAAA (ADA Amendments Act), PDA (Pregnancy Discrimination Act) and other related employment laws.
    • At least five years of experience in high volume, complex case management and knowledge and understanding of disability management; return-to-work strategies and related HR compliance regulations.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and maintain a clear sense of priorities for self and team.
    • Critical thinking skills to analyze data, identify patterns, communicate results, and make informed recommendations on how to resolve issues.
    • Must be able to deescalate emotional situations while maintaining professionalism with team members.
    • Ability to maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations in relation to leave and accommodation employment laws.
    Preferred:
    • PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SHRM-CP (Society of Human Resource Management Certified Professional) certification.
    • Prior leadership experience.
