    Description
    Introduction

    The incumbent functions as an extension of the Director of
    Nursing/Residential Services during their shift to provide leadership and
    direction for the Nursing/Residential Department. Accomplishes care through supervision,
    support and assistance to RN's, other Nursing/Residential staff and
    others. Provides administrative guidance
    during off duty hours as needed.
    Supports treatment of clients that is family driven and youth guided. In additionthis position provides CNO coverage and support for client care areas.

    POSITION DUTIES
    Provides leadership to effect
    treatment, care and service.
    Provides CNO coverage and support for
    client care areas.
    Participates in recruitment, hiring,
    and retention activities.
    Participates in the functions and
    processes of nursing administration.
    Participates and demonstrates
    competence in annual/biannual mandated facility
    trainings.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:
    Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses.

    Experience:
    Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, one year of which must have been in the Medical option.


    Notes:

    • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university for the one year of general experience.
    • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree in nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience.
    • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications orNursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes in the Nursingfield of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
    LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS


    • Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license in party states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence. A copy of your license or license number must accompany your application.
    • Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
    • Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification.
