POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Reservoir Engineer will be working on the acquisitions team in an engineering capacity evaluating new mineral and royalty opportunities. Prior experience with economic evaluations of operated, non-operated, or mineral and royalty assets is preferred. Sitio is a royalty company and does not conduct any field operations. This position requires a high attention to detail and comfort working with large amounts of data from acquisition targets. Candidates must be able to work in the United States indefinitely.

The Reservoir Engineer will report to the Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions.

Job Location: In office located in Houston, TX

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Work collaboratively in a multi-functional team on asset-level evaluations for acquisition targets, with a functional focus on Reservoir Engineering related tasks
• Monitor operator activity and related results in order to incorporate results on asset-level evaluations
• Work closely with Geology and GIS teams to continuously update STR sub-surface understanding
• Provide recommendations to incorporate financial, commercial and operational risks on acquisition analysis
• Participate on past acquisitions lookbacks to evaluate performance reconciliations, lessons learned and improvements for future evaluations
• Ability to travel domestically on a regular basis for the first 5 months of the job
• Self-driven and proactive, able to work with different teams and fully understand the evaluation process

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering is required
• 2-5 years of Reservoir Engineering experience related to U.S. Lower 48 resource plays is required
• Experience with economic and volumetric evaluations of oil and gas production including estimates of volumes, development activity, and cash-flow is preferred
• Direct work experience and proficiency with ComboCurve is required and preferred for ARIES
• Understanding of financial measures of asset performance: IRR, MOIC, yield, Cash Flow in addition to the commercial asset-related information like LOS, plant statements, etc. is preferred
• Demonstrated experience and competencies in teamwork, project management, and skills related to the E&P lifecycle
• Demonstrated ability to handle concurrent projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong desire to learn new methods and data-management technologies
• Experience with IHS, Spotfire, and SQL
• Experience working with large datasets, typically thousands of wells simultaneously

WORK CONDITIONS:

Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others. Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends. Periodic travel as business requires.
