    Position Overview:

    The Reservoir Engineer will be working on the acquisitions team in an engineering capacity evaluating new mineral and royalty opportunities. Prior experience with economic evaluations of operated, non-operated, or mineral and royalty assets is preferred. Momentum is a royalty company and does not conduct any field operations. This position requires a high attention to detail and comfort working with large amounts of data from acquisition targets.

    The Reservoir Engineer will report to the Executive Vice President - Engineering.

    Description:

    o Evaluate conventional and unconventional acquisition opportunities across L48 basins

    • Analyzing well performance using DCA and multivariate analysis to determine key drivers
    • Building type curves for future locations
    • Analyze commercial data from LOS's & convert to ARIES/ComboCurve inputs
    • Build out ARIES/ComboCurve databases with production, forecasts, expenses, taxes, interests, differentials, etc.

    o Perform basin studies incorporating geology, well performance, and reservoir characteristics to determine type curves for prospective benches

    o Maintain internal ARIES DB with changes in well statuses, forecast/type curve updates, diffs, etc.

    o Create and sensitize internal ARIES databases for equity investors, bankers, reserve auditors, financial/tax auditors, and potential asset buyers/investors

    o Compile LOS data from actual accounting software & analyze well/basin-level performance

    o Work closely with financial team to efficiently/timely meet ad hoc requests including, but not limited to, board meeting and valuation materials, forecasting for hedging program, investment memorandums, etc.

    Qualifications:

    o B.S. in Petroleum Engineering

    o 2 – 5 years of experience as a Petroleum Engineer with 2+ years in Reservoir Engineering A&D roles; IB experience a plus

    o Experience with economic and volumetric evaluations of oil and gas production including estimates of volumes, development activity, and cash-flow is preferred

    o Highly proficient with ARIES/ComboCurve software & experienced with Spotfire, QGIS, Enverus

    o Programming experience a plus (SQL, Python, R, etc.)

    o Comfortable in a small, multifunctional office environment

    o Understanding of financial measures of asset performance: IRR, MOIC, yield, Cash Flow in addition to the commercial asset-related information like LOS, plant statements, etc. is preferred

    o Possess strong personal and professional standards

    o Strong work ethic and enthusiasm to deliver excellent results

    o Takes responsibility for his/her own work and can operate with limited supervision

    o Strong written and verbal communication skills – ability to clearly explain complex issues
