Hiring for THREE or FOUR different positions: DAY, EVENING / OVERNIGHT & WEEKEND Personal Care Assistants/Caregivers for very bright, funny, 29 yr old female wheelchair user

THREE positions (preferred)

DAY Shift :
Mon - Fri 8am - 8pm 12 hour shift

EVENING/OVERNIGHT Shift:
Sun - Thurs 8pm - 8am 12 hour shift

WEEKEND Shift. Fri 8pm - Sun 8pm 48 hours straight

OR

FOUR positions

DAY Shift :
Mon - Fri 8am - 6pm 10 hour shift

EVENING Shift:
Sun - Thurs 6pm - 12am /midnight 6 hour shift

OVERNIGHT Shift:
Sun-Thurs 12am - 8am 8 hours shift

WEEKEND Shift:
Fri 6pm - Sun 6pm 48 hours straight

Three or Four positions are available to be a Personal Care Asst needed for VERY bright female 29-year-old wheelchair user - who lives in Spring Valley.

This young lady is very smart, runs her own life, has 24/7 care in her own home.

She has a service dog as well, a golden lab/pure cross, beautiful sweet big dog who goes everywhere with her.

(however, he often he might be in Northern CA) She has a rear-entry wheelchair accessible Sienna Toyota minivan that Personal Assistants will use to drive her wherever she prefers/needs to go.

Her mother hires, trains and sets initial schedules. This young woman, however, manages her day-to-day responsibilities /interactions with her personal assistants / caregiving staff.

Pay Rate is approx. $19-23/ hour, with raises possible, depending on qualifications, availability for this schedule, reliability, and references. ALL applicable State and Federal overtime laws apply.


REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum age 20 years old

Valid current driver's license, excellent driving record, and proof of auto insurance is mandatory.

Original Social Security Card

Pass FBI background check ( Livescan )

Cannot have any past or current back injuries or constant pain in back or knees because must have ability to physically transfer & assist this young woman - a core part of each position (she is 148 pounds).

She can stand/ weight bear with assistance, for transfers.

Cannot be allergic to dogs, because of her service dog.

RELIABILITY / TRUSTWORTHY/ HONESTYall these qualities are essential


SKILLS

• Ability to lift and move this relatively young woman safely
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
• Understanding of the young woman's rights and personal care principles
• Experience in heavy lifting (as required by the role)
• Background in nursing or social work a plus
• Proficiency in maintaining a clean and organized environment

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Interpersonal communications are key in this position.

Drive her where ever she chooses/needs to go; doctors appointments, grocery stores, Costco, out in the community for events, fun, meals, etc.

Her choice.

Physically assist her with showers, all personal hygiene, brush teeth, dressing, preparing meals, assisting her to eat, drink, etc.

Must be able to physically assist this young woman to transfer from her bed to her wheelchair (vice versa) push her wheelchair into her van's rear entry ramp, push her where she wants to go, etc.

Listen to HER.

Administer medications.

Help her make appointments when she requests assistance, assist her to check Facebook, conduct internet research, etc.

Light housekeeping:
keep kitchen clean/picked up, laundry, vacuum, etc.

For every part of this job, the personal assistants will be trained extensively until comfortable with all responsibilities.

Her mother will be in the area for beginning of employment, to train on all aspects of the positions, and teach best practices for personal care, transfers, transport, etc.
