    **Responsibilities**

    Process credentialing and re-credentialing applications of health care providers.

    + Review applications, prepare verification letters and maintain database.

    + Contact medical office staff, licensing agencies, and insurance carriers to complete credentialing and re-credentialing applications.

    + Complete administrative duties, such as ensuring state medical licenses are up-to-date and checking the status of new license applications.

    + Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and legal requirements related to the Medical staff.

    **Requirements**

    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    + Credentialing Specialist preferred.

    Education:

    + High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

    + Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

    **Additional Preferences**

    This role is deadline driven role and will require the Credentialing Assistant to:

    + Be self motivated,

    + Take ownership of their process within the department,

    + Work with teammates to verify correctness of information,

    + Communicate and collaborate with other departments and staff to ensure completeness and on-time submittal of credentialing documentation.

    + Experience with Microsoft Office/Google Suites is necessary

    + Excellent written and verbal communication, detail oriented and deadline oriented is a must
