    Our special education teachers are dedicated and caring They provide necessary support to both students and their team. They promote a healthy community and encourage positive change. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8am-4pm, Fridays until 3pm. Buxmont Academy offers a competitive salary, 401K retirement plan, paid time off, and health, vision, and dental insurances.     Buxmont Academy has six campuses in southeastern PA and uses restorative practices to encourage students to grow academically and emotionally. Our teachers, counselors, and support staff work together to build a healthy community environment for our students.

    Primary responsibilities for the special education teacher position include providing 1-on-1 and small group tutoring to students grades 7-12, creating and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEP), and conducting IEP meetings.

    Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor's degree or higher level of education, and either PA special education certification or the ability to obtain certification.We welcome qualified candidates who are interested in becoming teachers. We also welcome retired teachers who miss being in the classroom

    To excel as a Special Education Teacher at Buxmont Academy, you should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles are essential. Proficiency in utilizing educational technology and software to support student learning and progress tracking is important.

    Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and experience in creating and implementing specialized lesson plans will be beneficial. A passion for empowering students with diverse learning needs and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment are key to thriving in this role.
