Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Bakery Clerk to join our team.

As a Bakery Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting customers, preparing bakery items, and maintaining a clean and organized bakery department.


Duties:


  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Take customer orders for bakery items and provide recommendations
  • Prepare bakery items such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies
  • Package and label bakery products for display and sale
  • Ensure bakery displays are fully stocked and visually appealing
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the bakery department
  • Operate cash register for sales transactions
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints
  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a retail or bakery setting is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of basic retail math for cash handling purposes
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide exceptional service
  • Basic food preparation skills, including measuring ingredients and following recipes
  • Familiarity with operating a cash register is a plus
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations for cash handling purposes
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail
