Overview:


The IHOP Manager is responsible for coordinating, supervising and directing all aspects of the IHOP/Galveston, while maintaining profitable F&B outlet and high quality products and service levels.

The IHOP Manager is expected to market ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the restaurant.
  • Supervise IHOP associates.
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
  • Work with other managers and keep then informed of issues as they arise.
  • Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.
  • Assist in coordinating and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention in the outlet.
  • Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist in menu planning and preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with heath and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with requisition procedures.
  • Be visible on the floor and assist staff as needed during meal periods.
  • Understand, implement and monitor corporate promotions.
  • Ensure training of associates on SOP's and technical job tasks.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:


  • A High School diploma and at least 3 years of experience in a restaurant or related field; or a 4year college degree and 1 or more years of related experience; or a 2year college degree and at least 2 year of related experience.
  • Must have knowledge of F&B preparation techniques and health department rules and regulations.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Physical requirements:


  • Long hours sometimes required.


  • Medium work

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Flexability in hours required.

Mental Requirements:


  • Must able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must routinely meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to multi task.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.

  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
