    Job Title: Staff Commodity Business Manager, Connectivity and Compute

    The Staff Commodity Business Manager at Cepheid is responsible for creating a supply chain strategy to support data management and connectivity for our instrument product lineup. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape our product portfolio and influence both software and hardware decisions.



    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and selection
    • Develop commodity roadmaps to enhance cost, quality, and delivery
    • Stay updated on industry trends in connectivity and data management
    • Collaborate across functions to ensure sourcing meets end-user requirements
    • Identify and mitigate supplier risks

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related fields with 8+ years of experience
    • Global certification expertise for wireless devices
    • Experience in hardware and software design, integration, and verification
    • Global sourcing experience preferred
    • Strong negotiation skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Background in regulated medical device manufacturing
    • Familiarity with cost of ownership models for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
    • Knowledge of ERP and PLM systems

    This position in Sunnyvale, CA, offers a hybrid work option, combining office and remote work to provide a balance of flexibility and challenge. The salary for this role ranges from $130,000 to $165,000, with additional eligibility for bonus/incentive pay.
