Position overview:

The Community Liaison is a full-time position of Amani Family Services, Inc., which reports to the Associate Family Support Program Manager.

This position is responsible for providing short-term case management to Amani's clients in need of additional support to achieve personal and family goals.

Through assessments conducted by this position, the Community Liaison provides referrals to connect clients to needed community services. This position is available dependent on funding source.


About Amani Family Services, Inc.


Amani is the only local organization entirely devoted to promoting the wellbeing of non-English speaking families through community-based counseling and casework, with the purpose of facilitating the healing of immigrants and refugees who have experienced maltreatment and violence and preventing incidents of family violence.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Implement Amani's helping philosophy through shortterm case management and work with individuals and families to develop goals and strategies to achieve positive change
  • Complete initial and post assessments with clients to determine case progress
  • Address clients' immediate needs as reported by the client
  • Advocate for social justice on behalf of clients
  • Offer support and provide resources and referrals for followup care
  • Identify resource information for clients to assist them towards selfsufficiency
  • Utilize clinical supervision for growth and development
  • Work with and modify asneeded treatment/service plans
  • Collaborate with other providers as a part of a treatment team to assure coordination and continuity of care
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline (or universitylevel education equivalent from other countries) preferred
  • Certificate from an accredited Interpreter training class such as Bridging the Gap preferred
  • Prior work or volunteer experience with immigrants and refugees, as well experience working with lowincome communities
- (3) Three to (5) five years of related experience preferred

  • Professional technology skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and database software. Ability to scan, edit and create PDF files and experience with shared folders
  • Knowledge of community resources and agencies

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
  • Strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal, problemsolving, time management, verbal communication, and writing and presentation skills are required
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Professional disposition and demeanor
  • Ability to work in and adapt to the culture of a multicultural, community based organization
  • Knowledge of cultural competencies, internal biases and the ability to engage in selfexamination to overcome this barrier to providing exceptional services to Amani clients

  • Ability to define and uphold ethics and professional boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to client needs
  • Satisfactory background checks (i.e. fingerprint, criminal history record, and motor vehicle report), as well as positive professional references are required
  • Must be able to show valid proof of employment eligibility in the United States of America
  • Must have a valid driver's license, daily access to reliable transportation, and proof of personal automobile insurance meeting Amani's required coverage levels
