Description

Responsibilities-
ELL Program Development: Actively participates in the deliberations and classification of ELL students and leads in the planning, coordinating, developing, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the ELL program including instructional methods and materials.

Learning Effectiveness: Collaborate with general education teachers, students, and other staff to ensure that general education classroom environments and learning experiences support ELLs. Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, and any other meetings pertaining to ELL student achievement.

Data Management:

  • Maintains confidential records on all referred students and student/parent contacts in accordance with federal and state law, Board policy and the procedure of the school's ELL education program.
  • Provides thorough and timely reports, data, and information, and makes sure the ELL Department stays in compliance with federal/state rules and regulations.

Compliance: Coordinate, schedule and ensure ELL team administers are trained to proctor and provide accommodations for ELLs on district and school-wide assessments.

Training: Provide training and professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their ability to support ELL students. Stay current with best practices in English language acquisition and culturally responsive teaching.

Education/Training

Degree:
Bachelor's degree in education, English as a Second Language (ESL), linguistics, or a related field. A strong educational foundation in language acquisition and pedagogy is essential. You
are required to obtain a
Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.


Experience


A minimum of 2 years previous experience in roles related to education, online learning, alternative education environments, English Language Learners, or similar fields is highly desirable.

Basic Function


The Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for the ELL Coordinator's efficacy and successfulness is to organize pre-assessment and state testing initiatives throughout Arizona.

Success in this position will be 50-55% of ELL identified students assessed to maintain state compliance for English Language students.
