Our innovative rail products are manufactured and engineered for the safe and efficient loading, transporting, and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous bulk products.


Overview:

The Quality Inspector will provide coverage of Quality Assurance Lab responsibilities in support of manufacturing operations. This position will have high visibility with manufacturing team members, Value Stream and engineering functions.


Primary Responsibilities/Essential Responsibilities:


  • Work safely and without injury to self and others
  • Interpret drawings and verify requirements as applicable to production / PPAP parts Communicate the results to the appropriate people in support of Midland Mfg. production
  • Recommend and specify instrumentation, calibration and gauging needs
  • Confer with Midland personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status
  • Understand and perform to all quality regulations, standards and policies, including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015 and AAR M100
  • Follow work procedures and ensure highest level of quality and compliance
  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled, may be required to work scheduled overtime
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • 2+ years prior experience in quality inspection required (5+ years preferred)
  • Prior experience in machining shop or manufacturing environment preferred

Desired Characteristics, Competence and Capabilities:


  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to use calipers, plug & thread gages, micrometers and other measuring devices
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints, job orders, tooling instructions, and standard charts
  • Must possess proficient reading, writing, and computation skills
  • General knowledge/understand or some experience operating or programming CMMs (knowledge of PCDMIS is preferred)
  • Actively participate in defining strategies to meet quality objectives and in system reviews within the team
  • Actively participate in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.)
  • Ability to problemsolve individually or as part of a group as job duties require
  • Excellent ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities
  • Results oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively and work with all levels of a manufacturing company

  • Perform housekeeping duties including 5S, coolant replacement, and TPM
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is continuously standing with occasional sitting.
  • Frequent repetitive grasping and repetitively using fine manipulation with the hands.
  • May be frequently required to walk, bend, squat, or twist
  • May be required to repetitively push or pull frequently up to 20 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds with assistance.
  • This position is performed in an active manufacturing/quality office environment, and as required by job duties, may also require work in a shop environment.
  • Team members in this position may be exposed to loud operating machinery, varied temperatures and may be occasionally exposed to chemicals and vapors.

Pay:
$ $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
