The Awake Overnight Youth Care worker assists the Residential program in creating a safe environment to facilitate personal, social, and intellectual development in the youth we serve.

To accomplish these tasks the Direct Care works close with the staff and administration of the Brookhaven Treatment and Learning Center.


Essential Functions:

  • Provide constant safety and supervision of children.
  • Provide a therapeutic milieu that supports the children in working on treatment goals.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with others.
  • React to change and carry out all assigned duties.
  • Support the philosophy and mission of the program.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance.
  • React positively to supervision and constructive feedback.
Perform duties in multiple settings and travel to alternative locations, as necessary. In noisy and crowded environments in both indoor and outdoor settings.


Physical agility requires the following:

  • Frequent standing
  • Sitting
  • Standing
  • Walking
  • Kneeling

General Responsibilities:

  • Security check of buildings
  • Cleaning duties
  • Laundry
  • Assist in providing a constant safe environment for our youth.
  • Use appropriate behavior management techniques & trauma informed techniques to maintain a positive climate for learning.
  • Motivate students through effective communication and evaluate feedback.
  • Set and maintain high expectations for student's achievement and behavior.
  • Distribute medication.
  • Generate program activity ideas.
  • Assist in providing for the general physical and emotional needs of the youth we serve.
  • Attend staff meetings, as directed by your supervisor.
  • Assist in safeguarding confidential information.
  • Have on call responsibilities
  • Adhere to all Brookhaven Treatment and Learning Center health and safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervising Team Leader, or Residential Coordinator

Pay:
$ $17.00 per hour
