Precision Garage Door specializes in residential garage door service. We are locally owned and operated and backed by a national franchise started in 1999. Precision Door Service - A Name You Can Trust. Seeking a sales and service technician for residential garage doors, garage door openers, and related components. The technician provides multiple alternative recommendations for repair and replacement of necessary mechanical and/or electric parts for garage doors. Sells appropriate services or replacement options. Interacts with customers on a daily basis providing them with excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:


  • Shows, promotes, and sells products or services using sales strategies and tactics, product demonstrations, and sales techniques
  • Coordinates with office personnel to order necessary parts and equipment
  • Ensures truck is cleaned, fueled, serviced, and restocked with appropriate materials, parts, and tools prior to the beginning of each workday; verifies address at customer locations
  • Reviews work order information for accuracy and completeness before departing for job; contacts customers to communicate estimated arrival time
  • Drives to job sites while observing all posted speed limits; uses professional driving techniques whenever operating company vehicles
  • Reviews with customer any problems they are experiencing with their garage door, conducts a thorough safety inspection, and makes recommendations for repair and/or replacement
  • Provides customer with written price quotes for recommended repairs
  • Repairs, rebuilds or replaces appropriate equipment as agreed upon with customer; asks owner if old parts should be left or removed
  • Cleans work site thoroughly following completion of service; removes all hand prints from doors; cleans up all trash from job site; sweeps up garage
  • Places appropriate stickers on doors and operators
  • Ensures job sites are safe and all materials are out of the way upon completion
  • Collects payment from customer; ensures appropriate signatures are on all paperwork
  • Provides copies of all paperwork to the customer, including but not limited to price quotes, the safety inspection, warranty, required notices, owner's manuals, and a thank you letter
  • Returns all paperwork and payments to the designated office staff the same day as the service or the next morning
  • Records all work order site information, notes what actions need to be taken if the job cannot be finished or is not completed; reviews work order information for accuracy and completeness
  • Records date and time spent on the job, type and extent of service performed, and all material used with item number and price
  • Notifies manager of any injuries sustained while on the job (within one hour); consults with the manager to determine if any injury requires mandatory drug testing and reporting to test facility
  • Returns extra material to its appropriate place in the warehouse or truck; places trash in proper containers; ensures doors and gates are closed when leaving
  • Restocks truck daily and signs for materials; properly accounts for all materials used
  • Notifies supervisor of any required vehicle repairs in writing within 24 hours; hands in fuel and repair receipts regularly
  • Provides data for customer billing, payroll, truck maintenance, inventory management, operation expenses and service, and safety and accident reporting
  • Provides emergency service to customers as necessary and on demand
  • Serves as point of contact for questions from builders and customers; responds to questions in a truthful and pleasant manner; provides product information and upgrade options
  • Attends and participates in all required and requested safety meetings and training sessions in addition to weekly company meetings; obeys all safety rules

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED
  • College preferred
  • Sales experience
  • Technician experience
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services to include marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
  • Skill in servicing and repairing garage doors, openers, and related components
  • Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Skill in giving engaging and effective sales presentations
  • Skill in selecting and using appropriate training/instructional methods and procedures when learning or teaching new things
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service by assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction
