    Human Resources and Payroll Generalist (Contract - 18 months)

    Our client, Icosavax, Inc., a member of the AstraZeneca Group (LSE/STO/Nasdaq: AZN), is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing differentiated, high-potential vaccines using an innovative, protein virus-like particle (VLP) platform. Icosavax's VLP platform technology is designed to enable multivalent, particle-based display of complex viral antigens, which it believes will induce broad, robust, and durable protection against the specific viruses targeted. Icosavax's pipeline includes vaccine candidates targeting respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV). Based in Seattle, Icosavax was formed in 2017 to advance the breakthrough VLP technology with the goal to discover, develop, and commercialize vaccines against infectious diseases. In 2024, AstraZeneca acquired Icosavax, Inc. AstraZeneca is a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development, and commercialization of prescription medicines in Oncology, Rare Diseases, and BioPharmaceuticals, including Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism, and Respiratory & Immunology.

    The Human Resources and Payroll Generalist will oversee site Human Resources, Payroll and HRIS activities for the Icosavax Seattle site. This individual will work closely with Icosavax leaders and employees as well as AstraZeneca Human Resources functions to provide day-to-day services and to prepare Icosavax HR systems, policies and processes for future integration with AstraZeneca.

    JOB DUTIES:

    Human Resources:

    • Primary source of contact for Seattle employees and managers on HR matters including policies, procedures and employee matters.
    • In partnership with recruiters and administrative teams, lead the recruitment and selection process for new hires including postings, candidate screening, interview loops, references, offer terms, and background checks.
    • Coordinate HR onboarding and offboarding of talent including oversight of I-9 administration.
    • Assist in administering company compensation programs including annual compensation cycles.
    • Administer benefit plans and programs including TriNet open enrollment processes, 401k plan administration and leave of absence administration.
    • Proactively address employee inquiries regarding company policies and procedures and applicable regulations
    • Lead annual and mid-year performance management processes; coach managers and employees.
    • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

    Payroll and HRIS Administration:

    • Process semi-monthly payroll in an accurate and timely manner using TriNet's payroll system.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll and employment regulations and reporting requirements.
    • Administer HR policies (vacation, sick, floating holidays, leaves of absence, etc.) and ensures TriNet system is set up to correctly administer accurately.
    • Administer 401K plan including ensuring payroll deductions, loan setup and repayment, and safe harbor contributions are made to participant accounts.
    • accurate employee records and documentation including TriNet records and personnel files including new hire setup and termination processing.
    • reports as needed for management and Human Resources leadership.
    • Serve as point of contact for employee payroll inquiries.
    • Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile payroll data.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • degree and 5+ years of experience in HR roles.
    • understanding of payroll processes, laws, and regulations and experience with payroll administration.
    • in Payroll and HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
