This high-level independent contributor position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the effective planning and coordination of meetings for the Board of Supervisors and its standing committees.

Loudoun County, Virginia, is located approximately 35 miles outside Washington, D.C.

and plays a key regional role in the Northern Virginia area and in the state, participating in undertakings including those related to transportation/transit and road infrastructure, parks, mental health, public safety, and economic development.

Job Summary:


  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Research, draft, and edit Board and Committee information and action items for presentation by staff at public meetings, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Collaborate with County departments to manage multidepartmental special projects, supporting the Board's and the County Administrator's strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate and report on progress toward the goals and objectives outlined in the Board's strategic plan.
  • Provide advice and guidance to County management and staff on the agenda process, offering feedback on draft Board and Committee items and collaborating on revisions.
  • Utilize judgment to solve problems proactively and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Contribute to a highperforming team by providing support to colleagues in the execution of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment and meet weekly deadlines.
  • Background in public administration or a passion for public service.
  • Genuine interest in the programs and functions of local government.
  • Proficient in research and adept at editing documents.

  • Hiring Range: $79,911.85$109, Salary Commensurate with Experience)

Minimum Qualifications:


Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Planning or related field and three (3) years of related work experience in government administration, public budgeting, project management, land use, economic development, or related programs/operations.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements:

Requires successful completion of background checks to include criminal, credit, and DMV checks.

This position may be required to attend evening Board of Supervisors meetings.
