    eTrading Developer, Java ION - Investment Bank (Remote in US or Canada)

    Overview
    • ETrading is the global team responsible for Investment Bank's Securities global electronic trading strategy and delivery to clients. The team is targeted with maximizing Net Operating Profit from electronic flows.
    • This includes designing global client strategy, delivering appropriate channel management, automating pricing and hedging, algorithmic trading, client connectivity and ensuring margin maximization.
    • The Liquidity Maximization Team is responsible for maximizing the trading information and execution opportunities available to each trading desk with the express aim of providing our clients with more competitive pricing and larger sizes on a wide range of instruments.
    • Investment Bank is an extensive user of the ION suite of software solutions and this component set represents a core standardization and the team will enact much of their solutions using ION.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Understand existing systems and elevate them to a scalable architecture with minimal disruption to business. Adhering to good design principles and develop a reusable low latency electronic trading engines and strategies.
    • Responsible for creating high performance, low latency applications leveraging existing eTrading framework.
    • Continue to expand venues and liquidity providers on the existing ION aggregator platform, enrich the smart order routing functionality between ECN and the internal applications.
    • Develop, test, deploy and support the evolving eTrading technical stack.
    • Partner with global team and drive architecture to execute business objectives.
    • Liaise with technical and business stakeholders to collaborate on identifying opportunities and solutions.
    Work Experience
    • In-depth knowledge and experience in developing high quality, high performance, low latency solutions for e-trading systems and other applications primarily in Java based technologies.
    • Broad understanding of instruments in asset classes such as Fixed Income Equity and Commodities including experience in Profit & Loss (PnL) attribution and Trade lifecycle management
    • Well versed in engaging global business teams including traders, quantitative analysts, risk control officers and back office.
    • 10+ years of experience in application development at a top Investment Bank, Hedge Fund or other leading Financial Services institution
    • ION technologies, familiarity with ION api, component installation and configuration
    Skills and Experience
    Functional / Technical Competencies:
    • Extensive experience in architecting and implementation of a highly scalable, robust, low latency and multi-threaded system, using micro services, that would enable business stakeholders to hedge book and security risks in real time based on a few algorithmic strategies.
    • Experience in eTrading/Quantitative development team implementing highly complex research products across all aspects of price discovery and electronic trading.
    • Support research innovation through the creative and aggressive experimentation of cutting-edge hardware, software, processes, procedures, and methods.
    • Experience in Developing and Architecturing electronic Trading engines, Smart Order routing in the Fixed income space.
    • Developing and architecting Custom negotiation engine and Auto negotiation strategy for the electronic trading platforms.
    • Experience in developing or supporting depth-based pricing generation to respond to clients, based on the RFQ and the available market liquidity (Quote Management).
    • Managed the D2D Order Management gateways across multiple brokers (such as Brokertec, Espeed, Fenics,DealerWeb) covering Order creation/Cpature, routing, execution and post trade activities.
    • Working experience in ION API Java development and interface with ION Sysadmin and MMI is an added plus.
    • Extensive experience in ION technology MMI/SysAdmin and Front Office trading systems and processes, Pricing and Risk Management. Extensive experience in managing the D2D/ D2C gateways, Market connectivity and resolving client/trader queries is an added plus.

    Application Servers: JBoss, Node, Weblogic, Tomcat
    Database Systems: Mongo/NoSql, KDB, Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server

    Preferred:
    • Development Experience in other asset classes such as FX, Equity and Commodities is preferred.
    • Experience in Behaviour Driven Development process and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
    • Experience working in and building Continuous Integration (CI) and Continues Deployment (CD) by building custom build and deployments jobs inJenkins and Team city and building automation tests.
    • Experience in building Trade surveillance reports, Testing models for use in the areas of Electronic Trading Order and Execution flows.
    • Experience in the various broker front ends including Bloomberg FIT, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, Bondvision, MTS, Brokertec, iSwap, TradX etc.
    • Expertise in Bloomberg TOMS, able to troubleshoot trade flow and feed, P&L and risk issues.
