Description

Responsibilities:

-
Supervision and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times. Monitor their activities closely and intervene as needed to prevent accidents or injuries.

Engagement and Play: Plan and engage the children in age-appropriate activities that promote sensory stimulation, social interaction, and cognitive development. Tailor activities to the individual interests and needs of each child.

Communication: Communicate effectively with the children using clear and simple language. Use visual supports and other communication strategies to facilitate understanding.

Behavior Management: Implement positive behavior support strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote positive interactions. Remain calm and patient in handling difficult situations.

Daily Living Skills: Assist the children with activities of daily living, such as eating, dressing, and toileting, as needed. Provide guidance and encouragement to promote independence.

Collaboration: Work closely with the children's parents or caregivers to understand their preferences, routines, and goals for the children. Maintain open communication and provide regular updates on the children's progress.

Flexibility: Be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs and routines of the children. Be willing to adjust plans and strategies as necessary to ensure the children's comfort and happiness.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities is required.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and familiarity with evidencebased interventions and strategies.
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Background check and references may be required.

We are completely flexible with hours, if you have ABA, Speech, OT Experience, please apply, we are located in Watertown and looking for more support in our home.

If you have a valid drivers license, this would also be great because some driving may be needed, using our family vehicle.

Light housekeeping would also be helpful.

$ $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
