This position is located at our Downingtown location
- the Educational Service Center.
This is a temporary 1-year position.

School Year Position
The TaC Specialist conducts training and professional development within the Chester County nonpublic school program.

TaC Specialists are responsible for developing and implementing specified training and development programs and initiatives to support the development of educators, support staff, and school leaders in order to maximize student growth and achievement.

TaC Specialists provide leadership and guidance to other specialists, instructors, and/or external consultants, as requested to support programming, develop teachers, and support student success.

Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Conducts individual, group, and organizationbased training and professional development based on needs analyses and assessments at the request of schools and community organizations.
  • Plans, develops, and delivers individual and/or group training and instructional programs, encompassing a wide range of technical, operational, management, and/or other skills areas.
  • Provides support in the area of multilingual learner needs.
  • Develops or oversees the development of training curricula; formulates or reviews training outlines and determines appropriate instructional methodologies and formats; evaluates and recommends incorporation of vendor programs, as appropriate to meet overall training goals and objectives.
  • Oversees and coordinates the development and preparation of teaching and visual aids, instructional materials, computer tutorials, and reference materials appropriate to specific program objectives.
  • Coordinates, facilitates, and/or conducts specified professional development activities, such as planning team building events, organization analyses, recommendations for school improvement, restructuring exercises, social emotional wellbeing, and more.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to employee and organizational development consultants and training professionals.
  • Supports schools in building local capacity by helping educators and others at the local level develop skills needed to work with students with academic and/or behavioral health needs.
  • Assists in coordinating workflow and administrative activities necessary to deliver and document program implementation.
  • Provides input and assists in the planning, assessment, and implementation of organizational goals and objectives, in line with overall school goals and objectives.
  • Participates in PDEsponsored training sessions and planning meetings.
  • Utilizes and disseminates PDE sponsored materials and information.
  • Performs additional duties as needed and specified by PDE and the organization.

Qualifications:


Education and Experience:

Bachelors or Master's degree in Education
or related field required

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to facilitate effective and engaging group trainings, coaching and meetings with teachers, paraeducators and administrators
  • Experience with supporting multilingual learners
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience (special education preferred), schoolage level preferred

  • PDE Education certification or certification in related field
    required

Salary School Year:

- $22,542.00 to $34, Instructional I Certification
- $23,525.60 to $36, Instructional II Certification
- $25,026.80 to $39, Master's Degree
- $26,113.60 to $41, Master's + 15
- $26,682.40 to $42, Master's + 30
- *placement on scale based on experience_


Schedule:

2 days per week, 7.5 hours per day, 76 days per school year.
