About this role:


Wells Fargo is seeking a Banking Strategy Associate to work on the Banking Strategy Team within Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB).

The Banking Strategy team, in alignment with Banking's leadership team and COO, is a team of highly consultative professionals that drive business strategy and execution, research and analysis, competitive intelligence, business planning, internal and external executive communications, human capital strategies, and associated business analytics.


In this role, you will:


  • Lead initiatives/projects to resolve diverse problems identified by senior managers of the Corporate & Investment Bank
  • Execute on strategic priorities requiring deep analyses of internal metrics and industry trends
  • Gather, synthesize, and analyze internal and external data and present findings, insights, and associated recommendations
  • Craft clear and compelling narratives/materials by leveraging creative data visualization and storytelling
  • Manage internal processes such as meeting cadence, action item followup, concise summaries of key meetings and industry events
  • Monitor market trends and summarize insightful reports and analyses with broader team and with senior leaders
  • Develop senior level executive communications for board meetings, town halls, offsites, executive level dialogue, etc.
  • Manage significant datarelated requests related to business financials, headcount, fee pool and opportunity metrics, industry trends, etc.

Required Qualifications:


  • 4+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:


  • 4+ years of experience within investment banking or equity research
  • Experience executing large research projects on complex topics with clear deliverables and recommendations
  • Knowledge of the Investment Banking and Corporate Banking businesses
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Experience working on executive presentations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment and act with urgency when supporting leadership requests
  • Strong partnering and collaboration skills
