Description

The New Republic_ is looking for journalists with up to two years of professional experience for a position in its yearlong reporter-researcher program, starting in May 2024 and running through April 2025.

An institution of liberal journalism in America, _The New Republic_ has sought to develop a distinctive and independent approach to political analysis, cultural commentary, and deep reporting.

Reporter-researchers play a key role in carrying that tradition forward.


Your primary duty will be to fact-check the articles that go into our monthly magazine—investigative features, profiles, and discursive essays.

TNR is looking for people who are obsessive about details, comfortable searching archives and databases, and willing to pick up the phone and make the extra call.


This is a full-time remote position, but you must be based in one of the following regions: Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Illinois, or Florida.

Salary is $ 39,649.64 and includes a competitive benefits package.
