Job Overview

Responsible for developing and supporting data products, this resource plays a critical role in the design, development and management of modern, cloud-based data engineering and data warehouse solutions utilized by internal and external stakeholders.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Create high performance data products by monetizing business intelligence (BI) solutions, warehouse and Extract Transform and Load (ETL) technologies
• Work closely with different teams such as client, sales, IT, media planning and buying
• Design, develop and productionize data engineering pipelines on a massively parallel processing (MPP) and cloud-based tech stack, utilizing solution aspects from hybrid-clouds like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), data lakes and multiple data warehouses.
• Data management functions including:
• Pipeline/data feed management
• Metadata management
• Create database objects as needed (e.g. Stored procedures, Stages, Indexes)
• Optimization of data pipelines
• Integrate new publishers and vendors
• Maintain best practices for handling, storing and using data
• Tools:
• Redshift/Dynamo database platforms
• Data Build Tool (Dbt) Cloud Edition
• Apache Spark / AWS Elastic Map Reduce (EMR), Python, Pandas
• Strong structured query language (SQL)
• Data engineering stack on cloud architectures AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Exposure to Tableau, Looker nice to have.
• Will be leading workstreams related to corporate data migrations, consolidation, decommissions and net new stack builds for various commercial, marketing and clinical domains.

Key Core Competencies

• Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
• Strong understanding of ETL and data warehouse principles
• Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Technical documentation skills
• Ability to present complex ideas in user-friendly language
• Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a team-oriented, high-pressure environment

Education and Experience

• BS Degree in one of the following subject areas; Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred
• Minimum of 10+ years of SQL experience and 8+ years designing and developing ETL solutions
• Experience with the entire AWS product range specifically:
• Redshift?
• AWS Glue and Lambda functions?
• Python / Spark?
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts
• AWS Cloud Practitioner minimum Solutions Architect Associate or Professional preferred

The base salary range for this role is $153,900 to $192,400. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes unlimited paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
