Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Booking, housing, and releasing prisoners into and from the jail.
Provide security checks, maintain a jail logbook and check on the welfare of the prisoners.
Prepare incident reports that do not require a patrol officer filed response.
Schedule and implement specialty communitybased projects.
Responsible for prisoner needs including feeding.
Daily notification and assistance of the judge on all Class "C" offenses.
Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inspections of jail facility.
Assist all divisions within the department when needed.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to work flexible hours.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience in law enforcement or criminal justice student preferred.
Valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record
Must pass physical examination and physical fitness test consisting of a row on a Concept 2 rowing machine.
Must successfully pass psychological testing, polygraph, thorough background investigation and oral review board.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be able to successfully pass preemployment and random drug screening.

SALARY:

Hiring range - $43,909 - $46,114
($ $22.17)

Salary range - $43,909 - $65,853

Salary is dependent on qualifications and certifications
