Starting Salary Range $40.00 & up (based on years experience)


Conveniently located in a residential neighborhood backing onto Anniversary Hill Park in Holyoke, Massachusetts, our continuing care retirement community (CCRC) offers independent living, assistance living, and skilled nursing and rehabilitation to meet seniors' changing housing and healthcare needs.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise nursing care in accordance with rules, regulations & guidelines governing longterm care.
  • Ensure all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with written policies and procedures
established by this organization.

  • Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with procedures set forth by the organization.
  • Assure the implementation of resident care plans.
  • Conduct assessments and care plans appropriate for residents admitted to the facility.
  • Communicate pertinent information and interpret facility policies to residents, staff, families and
visitors.

  • Communicate effectively will all disciplines.
  • Keep DON informed of information of any changes in resident condition.
  • Review, investigate and document properly all incidents/accidents.
  • Coordinate orientation for new nursing staff.
  • Implement progressive discipline when appropriate.
  • Evaluate emergency situations and take appropriate action.
  • Participate in facility surveys made by authorized agencies.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, charting,
etc., as necessary.

  • Complete and file required record keeping forms/charts upon the resident's admission, transfer,
and or discharge.

  • Receive phone orders from physicians and record on the Physician's Order Form.
  • Chart all reports of accidents/incidents involving residents. Follow established procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication/treatment.
  • Ensure adequate medications, supplies, and equipment are available. Report needs to DON.
  • Ensure narcotic records are accurate for your shift.
  • Notify DON of all drug and narcotic discrepancies.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with safety and infection control policies and
procedures, including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated and proper

disposal of soiled materials.

  • Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory, and scheduled training and educational classes to maintain
current certification as a Nursing Assistant.

Qualifications:


  • Graduate of accredited nursing program
  • Current Massachusetts nursing license as an RN
  • Previous nursing experience in a supervisory role preferred
  • CPR/BLS/AED and IV certification required

Education:
Preferred

  • Associates or better in Nursing
  • Bachelors or better in Nursing

Licenses & Certifications:
Preferred

  • REGISTERED NURSE
