The Cambridge Associates Sustainable and Impact Investing (SII) Group is dedicated to assisting clients in the broad area of sustainable and impact investing and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) across asset classes and thematic areas such as climate change and social equity.

The SII Research Team conducts extensive due diligence on fund managers across asset classes and identifies best-in-class investment ideas for clients looking to incorporate sustainability and impact, manager diversity and/or ESG into their investment portfolios.


We are currently seeking Head of SII Data Strategy to provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for data relating to the integration of sustainability and impact factors into investment portfolios.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with others in the Investment Strategy Office and Global Investing to ensure financiallymaterial sustainability and impact data factors are integrated into our investment offerings in a standardized, rigorous, and regulatorycompliant way.
  • Assess and monitor evolving ESG regulatory and compliance developments in key jurisdictions (US, UK, EU) that are material to CA's business. Lead the evolution of our SII data strategy to comply with regulations and meet client needs.
  • Review existing sustainability and impact data and methodologies, and recommend changes to ensure standardization, documentability, reportability, and auditability across various key regulatory regimes globally.
  • Advance firmwide SII strategy as a member of the CA SII Executive Team.
  • Partner with Data Science and the broader AI Governance Committee to leverage evolving artificial intelligence capabilities to enhance the integration of sustainability and impact data into portfolio risk analysis and client reporting.
  • Develop robust and scalable Impact Measurement and Management methodologies and systems to service growing client reporting demands on impact, while protecting CA from risks of "greenwashing" and impactwashing" risks.
  • Collaborate with IT and Enterprise Data teams to build new systems and retrofit existing systems to implement the above.
  • Engage internal stakeholders to build consensus for, and facilitate adoption of, evolving sustainability and impact data methodologies.
  • Engage with relevant external stakeholders (clients, managers, data providers, regulators, industry association groups, etc.) on sustainability and impact data topics as needed. Partner with Global Investing, Investment Strategy Office, and/or external collaborators to advance thought leadership on sustainability and impact research that leverages our data platform.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry preferably within the investment management industry, including deep experience in sustainability and impact investing.
  • 5+ years with experience specifically in analyzing sustainability and impact data, methodologies, and frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, organizational, prioritization, decision making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience managing within a global context.
  • Experience with data engineering, building, deploying, and maintaining large, complex data services and pipelines on distributed systems.
  • Experience in implementing data visualizations (e.g. Tableau, Dash or Power BI) preferred.
  • Superior interpersonal and externalfacing skills; builds and maintains strong relationships/credibility with external counterparties.
  • Expert problem solver with the ability to identify and triage data issues to drive tactical solutions.
