Description
Monitors existing complex telecommunications networks.

  • Plans and evaluates technical innovations and designs required to maintain and/or expand service levels.
  • Prepares highly technical designs, cost/benefits analyses, and schedules implementation of network design.
  • Diagnoses and corrects problems affecting communications service.
  • Evaluates products and services offered (or to be offered) by the department.
  • Develops specifications and technical standards.
  • Develops new scripts or programs for use in the department to monitor the campus network or to support services offered by the department.
  • Supports contractors and consultants as needed.
  • Assists in the development of longrange plans for communications systems and services.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelors and 5 years experience


Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.

Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
