Housekeeping - colorful and diverse like life
Cooking, planning, decorating, organizing, providing, cleaning, washing, thinking economically, designing, nourishing - all of this is part of housekeeping.


Housekeepers manage private households and work in large companies such as nursing homes, hospitals, conference centers, guesthouses, or rehabilitation facilities.

Their tasks include nutrition and stock management, house and textile care, and designing and maintaining rooms and living areas. They are responsible for the housekeeping care of residents and patients.


Training content:

  • Planning, preparing, and serving meals tailored to individual needs
  • Cleaning and maintaining resident rooms
  • Laundry and textile care
  • Stock management of all consumables
  • Event management
  • Housekeeping care in all areas of housekeeping
During the training, insights and assignments are provided in the following areas:

  • Large kitchen/ residential kitchen
  • Laundry
  • House cleaning

Duration and training locations:
The dual training lasts for 3 years.
The accompanying classes at MarieBaumSchule in Heidelberg provide the necessary theoretical knowledge.
The practical training takes place in a facility of the Caritas Association Mannheim.


Professional and personal requirements:
