Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required.
• 12 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a South Dakota license or compact license in hand at the time of application.
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles away from this facility in order to be eligible to apply for this role.
• COVID vaccination required for onboarding. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:
Monument Health blackout dates for RTO are 8/1/24 - 8/18/24. Any RTO or special requests not included on your application will NOT be considered.

Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
1st time traveler MUST have EPIC experience
Mixed unit (Med/Surg to IMC level, as well as Long Length stay patients): ratios dependent on acuity
90% MEDSURG; 10% IMC - traveler will care for all acuity levels
Patient Ratios: PCU RN will work through all areas below: Long length of stay (MedSurg/NO Tele) - 1:5/6 Med Surg/Telemetry: (no IMC drips) – 1/5 Intermediate Care – 1/4
Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Skills required: Comfortability to take MedSurg assignments – please decline if not Previous experience with above-mentioned patients, including IMC/stepdown and neuro (can float to ONS); ability to read/interpret cardiac strips, wound care, line management, drain/tube management, drip titration of below medications Drip Titration: please ensure nurse is comfortable with the following – Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Levophed (up to 5 mcg), occasionally esmolol drips or other Betablockers or other antihypertensives
Floating: If yes, where? Any Adult Inpatient Unit - Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro/Surgical, Heart and Vascular Unit, Oncology, Observation Could be floated within scope of practice and below Will float in rotation with other travelers
Scheduling:
6-week schedules
Weekend rotation: Travelers could be scheduled for up to 4 out of the 6 weekends, which include Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Please include in offer if traveler is open to working every weekend (WOW) as this may be a possibility
Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? No mandatory call time. If it is an extra shift on top of their already guaranteed hours, and we have enough staff then they could be placed on call for that shift.
Holiday Expectations: Currently not accepting RTO requests during holidays – send RTO requests to manager for approval around winter holidays
Approval of time off? Ok to approve up to a week and a half – must extend if taking a full week off. We do have blackout dates from August 1-18th (exact dates change each year) due to our Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. No time off is approved during this time.
