Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities.

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for our clients by offering personalized care and ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals in their homes, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities
• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
• Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
• Assist with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and prevent falls
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary
• Engage in conversation and provide companionship to promote social interaction
• Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as tidying up living spaces and doing laundry
• Follow care plans and communicate any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to clients and their families

Skills:

• Experience or knowledge in dementia care is highly desirable
• Ability to provide childcare services when needed
• Background or training as a nurse or in a related healthcare field is a plus
• Strong direct support skills with a focus on personcentered care
• Excellent caregiving abilities with empathy and patience
• Proficient in meal preparation according to dietary requirements or restrictions
• Familiarity with medication administration procedures
• Knowledge of systems for tracking client information and maintaining accurate records
