Training & Resources Unit Director (Justice Program Supervisor).

This position is headquartered at the Risser Justice Center located at 17 West Main Street in Madison.


Position Summary


Under general supervision of the Division of Legal Services Administrator, this position directs the Training & Resources Unit and supervises the employees within the unit.

The position is a professional supervisory position which administers the training and resource program within the Division of Legal Services at the Department of Justice.

This position has a statewide impact, being responsible for trainings and resources within the division and for state prosecutors and agency counsel throughout the enterprise.

The supervisor is responsible for the program planning, training and resource development, budget management, and supervision of professional, paraprofessional, or administrative staff within the program area.


Salary Information
The Justice Program Supervisor position is in pay schedule 81 and pay range 03. The starting pay will be between $ $43.46/hour (approx. $ $90396 annually). Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan. A 12-month probationary period may be required.


Job Details


This position may be eligible to work remotely up to 40% as part of a hybrid schedule, following an initial training period.

Travel to the headquarters is not eligible for travel reimbursement.

High speed internet access is required to meet the needs of remote work.

The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment.

All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.

A background check, including fingerprints, will be completed on applicants prior to selection.


Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants must have professional work experience in the following:

  • Leading a team or mentoring employees
  • Developing strategic partnerships and working collaboratively with the partners on work tasks
  • Developing short and longrange plans/goals in a professional setting
  • Managing multiple tasks and prioritizing competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in common office technology (e.g., Microsoft products Word, Excel, Outlook
- or similar)

In addition to the minimum qualifications, a well-qualified applicant will have professional work experience in the following:

  • Providing services in at least one of the following areas: staff development and training, information or litigation technology, or library or legal resources
  • Experience in a formal supervisor role
  • Working in a legal or governmental setting (e.g., a law firm, government agency, legal nonprofit, etc.)
  • Experience with budgets and/or procurement⁠.
