**Summary: The Project Manager - Plumbing ("PM-PL") is responsible for overseeing all Plumbing aspects of the construction on a project from start to finish and is responsible for a safe and on-time completion that is within or under budget. The PM-PL is responsible for providing a customer driven focus while selling and supporting The Hill Group ("Hill") services.


Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Regarding Construction, Engineering and Project Management the PM-PL is responsible for:

  • Act on behalf of Hill as the primary contact with Customer, Owner, and/or Owners Representatives or governing authorities
  • Understanding of all construction drawings and construction flow on the jobsite
  • Run construction project, run/attend construction meetings and internal meetings to include:
  • Completing and forwarding estimates, and understanding the take-off techniques
  • Coordinating a preconstruction planning schedule by identifying critical activities, special Quality Management requirements, prefabrication, material handling and hoisting
  • Supervising and approving final construction drawings, developing and/or approving design details; attend and manage MEP coordination meetings
  • Develop, plan and implement MBE/WBE/DBE participation
  • Develop, plan, implement and monitor employment or residency requirements
  • Setup onsite facilities and communications; hire and directly manage various consultants, approval of Foreman and all Subcontractors if necessary
  • Assist and supervise Foreman
  • Responsible for all project communication including RFI's, Change Orders and Submittals
  • Negotiate vendor costs and approve all invoices required per specific projects; purchase materials and/or equipment as needed
  • Supervise startup, test & balance, and commissioning of all systems
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment compliant with OSHA regulations
  • Close out projects by completing Punchlists, Approve "As-Built" Drawings, preparing Operating and Maintenance Manuals inclusive of any additional parts required, training Operating Engineers, providing Client with appropriate training and Letter of Warranty, and confirming final payment
  • Responsible for final resolution of conflicts
  • All other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Building Construction Management preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience; fifteen years preferred
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint); experience in PENTA a plus

Other Qualifications:


  • Requires the ability and the willingness to estimate at times, estimate Change Orders and manage younger PM's and Engineers
  • Must have the ability to mentor and teach others.
  • Must have strong engineering and problem solving skills; Demonstrated mechanical engineering aptitude, thorough knowledge of plumbing systems and design with a knowledge base in HVAC
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems in complex technical environments
  • Demonstrated confidence and expertise in dealing with all levels of client contact
  • Business Intelligence and/or Analytics experience a plus
  • Requires an ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and adjust to changing situations
  • Requires great attention to detail, accuracy, an ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; maintain a professional attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Must be dependable, organized and selfmotivated with excellent time management and coordination skills; possess personal motivation and a positive work ethic with high integrity
