Real Estate Accountant
Roslyn, NY

  • Responsible for all general ledgers and entries for multiple entities.
  • Timely preparation of monthly financial reports (i.e. balance sheets, P&L statements).
  • Review and prepare organizational charts and formation structures for various real estate projects.
  • Work with outside auditors in timely fashion.
  • Assist with entity formation for the company's various SPE affiliates.
  • Interface with property and project managers, in addition to development staff.
  • Implement policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • QuickBooks and Yardi proficiency using multiple companies
  • Run accounts payable & accounts receivable and assist with cash flow management.
  • Track capital calls and paidtodate expenses, including the creation of project budgets and Anticipated Cost Reports ("ACR").
  • Provide monthly progress reports to partners, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Correspond with vendors, consultants, and government agencies.
  • Banking account management, wire transfers, vendor payments, and payroll.
  • Compile monthly bank requisitions for construction loan funding.
  • Maintain vendor COI and assist with insurance audits.
  • Strong communication skills

  • Office 365 Suite knowledge
  • Proficient with Excel and Outlook
  • Work on financial modeling along side principals and financial Analyst
  • Friendly, focused, detail oriented, team player and works well without direction
  • Able to multi task and efficiently communicate both internally and externally
  • Produce and file a portion of the companies tax returns
  • Support Principals with key investments and management decisions
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis and reports for Principals and Investors

Requirements:


  • BA/BS degree in accounting
  • CPA preferred not required
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience required, preferably in the field of real estate development, construction, and property management.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, with a focus in Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficient in Yardi and QuickBooks
