Cost Analyst

Summary:
Manages product costing and margin analysis for manufactured houses. Determines costing impact of product modifications, customizations, and material inflation. Provides costing estimates for quotation purposes of new business. Manages standard costing ERP system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains cost in Navision ERP system, creating bills of material, updating BOMs by exchanging new items being purchased for old items made obsolete, and preparing margin information to be used by the General Manager and Controller for pricing decisions.
ERP system maintenance, including options, package modifications and model/floorplan inputs, and auditing of standard construction specifications for each brand.
Production floor audits of bills of material for models and options to verify and update Navision bills for asbuilt items and quantities.
Interacts with and assists other departments including Sales, Engineering, Materials, Production, and General Manager.

Competencies

Must have strong attention to detail and analysis skills.
Must be proactive, able to research and problem solve, devise solutions and recommendations, and report on findings.
Must be able to independently research and problem solve, devise solutions and recommendations, and report on findings.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as square and lineal footages, percentages, and area as it pertains to costing.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Must be able to exercise independent judgement and adopt or modify methods and standards to meet assigned duties/objectives.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent; or two or more years related training/ experience in data analysis and excel; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Accounting and Costing experience in a manufacturing industry desired.
Manufactured housing or construction industry knowledge helpful.
