DRIVE SMART Virginia is expanding our program into Maryland and we are looking for an excellent networker with an engaging personality to help us grow The organization's mission is to improve the safety of our roadways by raising awareness about traffic safety.

This position will serve as the manager of education and outreach initiatives occurring in Maryland to include interactive teen driving events, child safety seat programs, and community/networking events.

• Plans and runs interactive educational events at Maryland high schools and community events including the distracted driving simulator program.
• Works educational exhibits at outreach events and engages with the public about traffic safety.
• Networks with high school and traffic safety communities to establish the DRIVE SMART Maryland program.
• Works closely with MileOneCares, the philanthropic arm of Heritage/MileOne Autogroup in various facets including public affairs, engaging staff to volunteer at events, planning events, etc.
• Assists with MileOneCares' child safety seat checks and distribution events.

• Ability to master traffic safety information, programs, and laws and any other information relevant to the mission of the organization
• Ability to work with teenagers and the public in an outgoing and positive manner
• Ability to work outdoors and standing for long periods of time and set up and run simulator equipment on a regular basis, including lifting at least 25 pounds
• Ability to complete training to become certified child safety seat technician (CPST) and maintain certification
• Ability to develop and maintain partnerships
• Ability to problemsolve
• Ability to coordinate multiple schedules and manage multiple events at once
• Skill in social media programs, Word, Excel and other relevant communications programs
• Ability to flourish in a teamoriented and missiondriven organization
• Ability to drive company vehicle with trailer attached and travel across Maryland for events

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in education, communications or related field preferred
• Experience organizing and/or working outreach events
• Outgoing and flexible personality
• Occasional night and weekend work and travel will be required
• Desire to contribute to the growth and development of the organization
• Good driving record

This position will work in a remote environment and must be located in the Baltimore area, with extensive in-person outreach and networking events across the state of Maryland.

DRIVE SMART Virginia offers a competitive salary and benefits package, the salary range for this position is typically $55,000 to $65,000, based on desired experience.
