Position Summary:

As an Armed Security Officer at our City of San Diego worksites, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, sanitary, and secure environment for our residents.

This role involves observing, reporting, and responding to situations as they arise, while also helping to deescalate potential conflicts and ensuring the facility's security.

Key Responsibilities:

Observe and report any suspicious or unusual activities within the facility.

Maintain a visible and approachable presence to deter potential security threats.

Assist guests and staff with access control and visitor management.

Handle security incidents and emergencies professionally and in a calm manner.

Deescalate tense situations and conflicts among guests using effective communication and conflict resolution skills.

Conduct regular security patrols.

Perform security-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous security experience is a plus, but not required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.

Physical fitness to climb stairs and walk for extended periods.

Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution.

Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations.

Must be reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing work schedules.

Clean criminal background and professional appearance.

CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
