    Responsibilities

    Peraton's Risk Decision Group is a renowned provider of federal background investigation services, with a rich history of supporting government agencies for over two decades.

    We are currently looking for a dedicated full-time Credentialed Background Investigator. Our team embodies exceptional quality, integrity, and professionalism, with a specific emphasis on National Security. With a workforce spanning all 50 U.S. states, including Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, we are committed to excellence.


    • Conduct background investigations to assess the suitability of individuals needing access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.
    • Primary casework involves supporting the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). Additional contracts may be assigned based on investigator performance and operational requirements.
    • Engage in face-to-face interviews with subjects, their acquaintances, employers, and relatives.
    • Perform thorough record searches at various institutions and facilities.
    • Document findings clearly and concisely in government systems.
    • Handle additional assigned tasks.
    • Travel locally and outside the primary work area, with some temporary duty assignments throughout the year.

    Qualifications


    • Hands-on experience in field investigations conducting DCSA/NBIB background checks within the last 18 months.
    • Active favorable TS clearance.
    • U.S. citizenship.
    • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and integrity.
    • Proven track record in quality, timeliness, and productivity metrics.
    • Intermediate typing skills (40+ WPM) and proficient computer abilities.
    • Effective communication skills and ability to maintain attention to detail.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Physical capability for the job requirements.
    • Interpersonal skills to engage with diverse personalities.
    • Proficiency in organizational tasks and adaptability to changing environments.
