Introduction
At Unique Electric Solutions (UES), we envision a world where all bus and truck fleets are electrified, lowering fuel costs and improving air quality for everyone.
As our business scales from increased demand, we are seeking an assembly technician to help us to manufacture electric trucks and buses.
This position is focused on installing our electric and fuel cell electric propulsion systems into delivery trucks, school buses and new chassis to make them into environmentally-friendly electric vehicles.
UES has multiple contracts with NYC-based and National fleets to repower their class 4 through 8 vehicles.Responsibilities
- Install wiring harnesses, cooling systems, and bracketry onto vehicles
- Electrical and mechanical assembly for repowered vehicles
- Design and troubleshoot our systems
- Work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to a new plan
- Write reports and be willing to learn to use to use diagnostic software
Location and Commitments
- Fulltime position based in Holbrook, NY
- 40 hrs / week; 9:00am to 6:00pm with one hour for lunch
- Periodic travel to all points within U.S. for customer service and trade show events
Mandatory Qualifications
years of hands-on experience in one of the following industries: aviation, marine, bus, truck, or military vehicles.
- Strong communication skills in order to interface with our technician team, customers, and vendors to address problems, make improvements, and streamline manufacturing.
- The ability to read schematics, fabricate/route/dress/support wire harnesses, electrical troubleshooting, inhouse mechanical assembly and field service
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and operate vehicle lift is required
- Automobile and clean driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Realworld experience with chassis electrical wiring, specifically in splicing, crimping and soldering wire harness connections
- Welding and sheet metal fabrication skills
