- Demonstrates the ability to prioritize care of patient according to presenting conditions.
- Maintains aseptic technique and sterile field to assure compliance with infection control (checks sterile packs for integrity and correctly opens; observes for breaks in aseptic technique; maintains safe distance from sterile field; helps arrange sterile field; initiates action when break in aseptic occurs; preps surgical site correctly.)
- Plans care with other members of the health care team. Checks schedule for room assignment and cases.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform procedures and use equipment for epidurals and pain management.
- Demonstrates competencies to perform procedures and use equipment competently in the care of patients undergoing surgery. Connects equipment in appropriate sequence. Initiates appropriate counts. Anticipates needs of scrub nurse/surgeon/anesthesia.
- Demonstrates the ability to prioritize care of patient according to presenting conditions.
- Graduate from an accredited school or otherwise recognized nursing program
- Licensed RN in the state of Ohio
- BLS certified through the American Heart Association
- ACLS certified through the American Heart Association preferred; or gained within 90 days of hire.
- 1 year OR experience required.
