ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Non rotating 40 hour work week. Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Performs receptionist duties; answering and routing incoming calls; directing customers to the appropriate department staff; responding to inquiries from external sources; and by being first point of contact for the department.

Assist the HR Recruitment team in the area of sourcing, screening applicants, developing candidate pools, closing requisitions, report generation and special recruiting projects.

Responsible for departmental information by:

maintaining records management of Human Resources files; following the department's record retention schedule which includes the annual movement, storage, and/or destruction of records; maintaining document storage in an organized manner to include preservation and/or protection of the records from harm; researching and retrieving documents and/or files for various requests; producing employee ID badges; and by completing employment verifications verbally and/or in writing based on departmental procedures utilizing the Infor HRIS system.

Contributes to the department effort by:

processing incoming and outgoing mail; date stamping all paperwork to ensure timeliness and accurate administration of documents; maintaining the schedule and assisting with departmental research and compiling data and report generation; and other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requires six (6) months to one (1) year of education past graduation from High School or GED with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience.

A combination of education and experience in the related field may be considered.

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to one on one interview.

Closing Statement

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.

Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.

This position is classified as Safety Sensitive.
