Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Northwest Heart Center.
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our cardiologists in delivering high-quality care to our patients.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside renowned experts in interventional cardiology and contribute to the well-being of individuals with cardiovascular conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures
- Obtain and record patient vital signs, medical history, and other pertinent information.
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), stress tests, and other diagnostic procedures as directed by physicians.
- Administer medications and injections under the supervision of a physician.
- Provide patient education on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, referrals, and coordinating patient care as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred.
- Prior experience in a cardiology practice or healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in taking accurate vital signs and performing basic medical procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care and upholding patient confidentiality.
- Speaking Spanish is a plus
