Overview:


Working under the direction of the RSVP Project Director, the Volunteer Coordinator will contribute planning and organizational skills to assist in the fulfillment of stated goals of the program; recruit, interview, place and help orient volunteers; develop and maintain positive relationships with partner sites, and volunteers.


Responsibilities:


  • Follow a written volunteer recruitment plan for RSVP Volunteers of Central MA, while assisting existing volunteers
  • Act as a point of entry into the program, including interviewing, orienting, and placing new RSVP volunteers
  • Upate comments regularly about volunteers and/or stations to Volunteer Reporter
  • Serve as telephone liaison between RSVP volunteers and volunteer Stations.
  • Schedule visits to volunteer stations with input from Project Director
  • Contribute regularly to project Facebook page
  • Act as point person for all requests for volunteers with atypical (event) volunteer requests from RSVP existing stations in consultation with Project Director.
  • Review quarterly RSVP Worcester "Policies and Procedures" and RSVP Handbook
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree supplemented by related employment is highly desirable.

Proficient in MS Office; exceptional people and communication skills; knowledge of office procedures; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with project staff, sponsors, partners, and volunteers; familiarity with senior citizens, non-profits and or volunteer services desirable; must have own car - mileage reimbursed for community visitation.
