Network Operations Technician - Norristown, United States - NetCarrier Telecom

Position is for a Network Operations Center Technician that will have a wide reaching role within our Main Corporate Office in Norristown/Audubon Pa.

• Monitor voice switch for correct operation. Navigate and interpret status displays.
• Interact with vendors and customers for problem notification and resolution.
• Troubleshoot customer voice, VoIP (hosted PBX), and data issues in a timely fashion while.
• Coordinate with other Network Operations Center staff for weeklyrotating 24×7 oncall coverage. This includes carrying a issued cellphone and laptop for oncall hours.
• Maintain DNS, domain name, and IP registrations, updating of databases, SWIP registrations. Manage shared web services and certificates.
• Backup dispatch to customer and core locations.
• Perform emergency visits to customer and core network locations.
• Perform Internal Windows Desktop and Server management duties including; local software installation and configuration support, server updates and audits

• Knowledge and understanding of Telecommunications including:
• Windows Webserver
• MySql
• POTS, Trunks, ISDN PRI, DID, DMARC, Smart Jacks, Wiring, 66 Blocks, etc.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of VoIP and Hosted PBX systems including:
• Extensions, ring groups, call queues, auto attendants, IVRs, call parks, conference bridges, intercoms, paging, overhead paging, Poly business/desk phones (SoundPoint and VVX), Poly conference phones (SoundStation and Trio), Panasonic cordless phones, Yealink phones, etc.
• Have experience with Adtran IADs, how to provision and troubleshoot them.
• Able to troubleshoot TCP/IP networks/services and understand concepts.
• Able to troubleshoot static and dynamic routing.
• Experience with the following:
• Circuits and related troubleshooting.
• PBX features and concepts.
• Windows 7, 10
• Windows Server Management
• Cisco IOS and Cisco NX-OS
• LAN environments.
• DNS & DNS concepts.
• Web hosting & Web hosting concepts.
• Firewall concepts
• VPN concepts
• Windows desktop support
• Perseverance with vendors for aggressive problem resolution.
• Familiarity with common administration tasks for both UNIX and Microsoft servers.

• Associates degree in related discipline, preferred. CCNA preferred or related experience.
