Description

The Digital Content Specialist is a creative position that works at the intersection of marketing, branding, social media, and programming to drive high levels of web traffic and audience engagement and communicate a cohesive, vibrant, and fresh brand for the Oxnard Performing Arts Center Corporation (OPAC).


This position is charged with creating enticing, relevant, and accessible communication avenues (that work in both directions) with our diverse stakeholders: the public, rental clients, event attendees, the media, residents of Oxnard and adjacent communities, and more.

As a Digital Content Specialist, we welcome this staff member to take initiative and think outside traditional formulas to engage the community, enhance our programs and create brand awareness in truly unique, authentic, and innovative ways.


Responsibilities

  • Branding_
  • Is a storyteller for OPAC, our programs and the people who we impact. This can happen in any number of ways and we encourage this position to run with this
  • Marketing_
  • Creates graphics for print and digital event collateral.
  • Produces video content for website, social media, etc. as needed
  • Creates ads for print and digital platforms
  • Updates website as needed
  • Social Media_
  • Creates, maintains and adheres to a Digital Content Calendar for organizationwide platforms
  • Oversees all Social Media platforms and related posts, events, campaigns, graphics, paid advertisements, responses, etc. These are currently Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Instagram, but other platforms are also encouraged. The position also manages OPAC's Google Business Profile and Yelp page.
  • Creates and executes a strategy to engage our online community, increase followers and develop a unique voice for OPAC online.
  • Programming_
  • Documents all events and programs through photography and video and maintains an archive of these visuals.
  • Produces professional livestreams of inhouse and rental events as needed
  • Oversees communications, marketing, social media, and other similarly placed interns and volunteers
  • Works with program participants if and when such programming (summer camps, teen program) comes to fruition
  • Develops more robust online programming (YouTube Channel, streams, etc); to be discussed and explored further
  • Community Engagement_
  • Creates signature programs or platforms for community engagement
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned and/or needed

Job Requirements & Qualifications:


  • Proactive, selfdirected and strong work ethic with excellent followthrough and timemanagement knowhow. Must be able to deliver a range of concurrent projects ontime.
  • Displays a positive attitude, exercises independent good judgment, and creative thinking
  • Excellent listening and communication (written + verbal) skills; copyediting
  • Energy, enthusiasm and proven experience in producing digital content and digital best practices
  • Knowledge and experience of running digital marketing campaigns (Facebook/Instagram campaigns).
  • Experience of photography and creating/editing images, using packages such as Adobe Suites
  • Experience creating and delivering highimpact graphic design
  • Experience of video production, including filming, editing (preferably using Final Cut Pro or similar) and delivering via channels such as YouTube.
  • Understanding of digital analytics and metrics, their importance and the tools to monitor, manage and evaluate them
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments, members and suppliers.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including work events on weeknights, weekends and holidays
  • Physical requirements include ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 lbs. when required
  • Must be able to work in different work environments to include office as well as work outside exposed to prevailing weather conditions
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Spanish language skills desired

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 12 years experience or equivalent education
