Job Summary:

Then become part of the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services Human Resources team. The Department is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Human Resources Technician. With dedication and a commitment to excellence, we provide outstanding recreational and leisure opportunities, outcomefocused community services, and stewardship of our natural resources for Loudoun's residents and visitors.
  • PRCS serves a diverse population including but not limited to youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.
  • We are currently hiring for the following locations:
  • 742 Miller Drive, Leesburg, VA
  • The primary responsibilities of this position will include:
  • Serve as a Human Resources contact for the Department.
  • Research and resolve questions and issues and advise staff on County policy.
  • Coordinate PRCS New Hire Process.
  • Complete background checks including criminal, credit, and DMV checks.
  • Prepare offer letters.
  • Submit departmental employee records to HR and Payroll.
  • Maintain PRCS Employee Personnel Records.
  • Prepare letters, salary worksheets, and personnel actions as needed for various employee actions, FMLA medical leave requests, department bonuses, and other actions.
  • Administer Payroll Transactions for the Department.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of county policies regarding overtime, oncall, holidays, and other situations that affect time and payroll.
  • Assist with training coworkers and managers, completing assigned projects, and backup team members as needed.
  • Assist with Developing Program Policies, Procedures and Budget
  • Assist with recruitment activities in the NeoGov system and participation in department job fairs and recruiting events.
*Work hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.


Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of related
clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and
equivalent combination of education and experience.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Associate degree with coursework in human resources, business administration, or related field)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are preferred.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and/or Professional of HR (PHR) are preferred.
  • Experience with NeoGov and/or Oracle are preferred.
  • Experience working in public sector and/or local government are preferred.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements:


  • Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed
- annually for continued qualification).

  • DMV, criminal and credit background checks required.
