A Data Management Employee for the Department of Library for Educational History Research:
Starting as soon as possible, 45% of regular weekly working hours, fixed-term for 36 months, compensation according to EG 9 (TV-H), location: Berlin, application deadline: February 16, 2023


The Department of Library for Educational History Research is seeking a
Data Management Employee for the DFG project "Between Alija and Flight: Jewish Youth Associations and Zionist Education under the Nazi Regime and in Pre-State Israel ":45% of regular weekly working hours.

Fixed-term for 36 months. Compensation according to EG 9 Collective Agreement for the Public Service of the State of Hesse (TV-H).

The location is Berlin.

As part of the project, the BBF Archive is responsible for securing the sources collected in international archives.


Your tasks:


  • Capturing descriptive and content metadata for 20th century text and image sources
  • Reviewing and enriching existing metadata and digitized materials
  • Collecting and recording biographical information
  • Participating in regular project meetings and exchanging information with researchers on data structuring questions

Requirements:


  • University degree in a humanities field, preferably Judaic Studies or Data Management
  • Excellent understanding of technical systems
  • Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Experience in managing humanities research data or willingness to
